Nike have revealed some Air Max 90′s with some slick croc material on the front. The Source stated that there are only 25 pairs available so I imagine you and I might find it hard to grab a pair. They look really fresh and something new. Only Nike could pull croc material trainers off.

Too Much Glam In This Game

Do you feel that there is too much glamourising in music videos, towards guns and drugs etc? Well I came across one video called 9mm featuring Akon and Lil Wayne, which seemed to disguise the fact they were talking about guns with the use of speakers. Its doesn’t say anything directly, but one line states, “because of the law I had to conceal it.” This must surely be a pun on hiding guns.

There is an explicit version where 9mm is used instead of speakers. I feel that this can’t be a good image to send out as it will obviously influence others.

They could just be talking about speakers and how big they are, but there is a small chance that it is not. What do you think?

Is this type of video harmless or a bad influence?

Lil Wayne: Spit

The Source have put on their website about Lil Wayne’s latest song called Spit. This is part of the album Rebirth and features Kevin Rudolf from the Let It Rock video.

I’m not too sure about the guitars riffs and the rapping, maybe it needs a few listens before it gets better. At the moment I feel Lil Wayne is brave for doing something new, but I don’t know if its the right choice, what do you think?

Tupac and Notorious: A Mystery Unsolved

The Tupac and Notorious case has been going on for years and it still remains a mystery as to who was responsible for their deaths.It is truly tragic to loose two of the greatest rappers the world has ever seen, what is worse is that justice still can’t be found for their families.

There have been many conspiracies as to what might have happened, and I have always wanted to know the truth. There are so many different ways those two nights may have gone, but will we ever find out what happened?

The divide between the east coast and west coast scenes is clearly part in the story. I thought that the film Notorious may have told us some more about what happened. It shows Notorious being wrongly blamed for the shooting as he rushes down to see Tupac, but it does not show who actually did it.

In a documentary found on youtube, it said that Tupac had two sides to him, the good and the bad. He became convinced that Notorious had shot him, and it was a completely different side to the rapper.

I feel that something should have been done to release the tension between the two gangs, but would this have been enough?

How would the music world have developed if they were still alive? Have rappers of today learnt a lesson? It seems that feuds will always be part of the music.

Check out this song called Flight School. I have a feeling it will be a big tune. Kanye finally has his voice back and it seems he is back to his ultimate best, spitting simply brilliant lyrics. T-Pain is the icing on the cake and gives the song a relaxing feel to it.

10/10 for being a relaxing and very catchy song.

The Source has posted news that Kid Cudi has released a mixtape titled Dat Kid From Cleveland. Just when we all thought he was about to leave Kid Cudi has surprised us all with a new release. As I have said in previous posts he has announced a comeback, but now it looks to me that the possibilities of this whole scenario being a stunt, could be true. What do you think?

Rappers and Steroids

In the present climate of the hip-hop music industry the image required for male rappers is one with big chains, fast cars and a tough attitude. It seems that the pressures from the industry itself and from the public lead rappers into also developing a large physique.

The main reasons for this could be that they have to attain the muscly physical appearance to show that they are No1. or the Top Player.

The problem comes when steroids begins to surface amongst role models for our society.

50 Cent, Wyclef Jean, and Timbaland were once involved in an investigation with steroids. Even Mary J Blige was linked with the steroid saga.

The Times Union says it gained access to records from several unnamed cooperating witnesses on Long Island, New York, that reportedly indicate that human growth hormone or steroids were shipped to Blige and the others — sometimes under fictitious names — at hotels, production studios, private residences, an upscale Manhattan fitness club and through the Long Island office of chiropractor Michael Diamond. Diamond, who has not been identified as a target in the case or accused of breaking any laws, helps run an anti-aging program at Clay Gym in Manhattan.

Even if they are all found not guilty of using steroids, there will always be a suspicion for me as to how these rap stars have become so built naturally during their busy schedules.

For me a more positive appearance would be that of Kanye West. Unlike many of his rapstar colleagues, Kanye manages to attain a fresh, trendy and original image, without the need for the use of the Bad boy, tough and intimidating look. Maybe this is the type of role model that is needed for our society at this moment in time. A positive image, that inspires the youth of today.
